  • Why did they reject me? I’m not good enough.
  • They’re asking me to lower my prices. I don’t feel confident to ask for more.
  • I’ve no clients & I’ve made no money recently. This is rock bottom. This is the sign to quit.
  • How do I find new clients?
  • I’m overthinking everything. I’m overwhelmed & stuck. I don’t know what to do.
  • I’ll never make money doing what I LOVE. It can’t be this easy. I’m meant to be a starving artist.
  • How do I pitch to this brand? What should I write?
  • I feel so lonely on this journey. Who do I speak to?

This isn’t just inspiration; it’s actionable advice from food photographers, bloggers, and creatives who’ve been where you are and found their way forward.

From finding confidence, struggling to pitch to pricing, and hitting rock bottom to overthinking - these Creators are saying your fears and doubts out loud.

You don’t have to figure this out alone.

Tune in to hear how your favorite creators tackled the challenges, doubts, and questions you might be facing right now—and how you can, too.

  1. Practicing and becoming educated about your camera can give you confidence and help negotiate better rates with brands.
  2. Pitching is a healthy habit & should be practiced to keep your business in good health.
  3. More than skill and talent, a strong mindset is what will keep you in business. It will be your anchor when you hit rock bottom and will keep you from giving up.
  4. To figure out how to price your services, start with knowing what the cost of running your business is and how much you need to make to build the life you want.
  5. To deal with rejections, understand that it’s part of being a business. You’re a business and the rejection is not personal. Get thick-skinned and find alternate techniques like exercise, meditation etc. to cope with the physical stress of rejection.
  6. Take away the overthinking and overwhelm of building a business by breaking it down into bite-sized steps.
  7. Join a community of like-minded creatives or peers for inspiration, sharing ideas, fears, doubts and views. Encouragement from peers is a recipe for success.
  8. Don’t let anyone make you believe that you’re worth less. Reframe the words that set you back and follow your faith in yourself. You’re not destined to be a starving artist.
  9. If you’re afraid of any part of business, do it more and do it enough number of times. Practice creates confidence and takes away fear.
